Hello Renegades,

Championship meet is almost here!  We have gotten a little glimpse of the "playing field".  Two of the Division 1 teams are bringing over 100 swimmers, we are bringing 89...BUT, it was the same scenario when we swam against those teams, and won, in the regular season. However, the scoring is done a little bit different at the Championship meet.  Because our numbers are smaller, when we say EVERY swimmer counts, it really is true that EVERY swimmer counts at our Championship meet.  We may be the smaller team, but our swimmers and coaches are mighty!!!

Assigned Volunteer Situation:

It is imperative we fill the remaining 8 assigned volunteer positions.  We have communicated with those that have not had a chance to volunteer at a meet yet.  If you received the e-mail but HAVE volunteered at a meet, we apologize for the error.  

We need to get the 3 Award positions filled (stick the labels on the ribbons and medals; this starts around event 15 and occurs periodically as labels are printed); 4 timers for age 10 & under pool area.

Meet Info.:

Saturday, June 27^th, Southwest ISD Aquatic Center, 9290 SW Loop 410, arrival time 7:15 a.m. (NOTICE we moved that up by 15 mins. from previous communication).  There is a small parking lot with handicap parking in front of the building. Most cars will park behind the natatorium in the Christa McAuliffe MS parking lots.  The meet is scheduled to end at 12 p.m.

Before Arrival: SWIMMERS MUST HAVE THEIR 1ST AND LAST NAME WRITTEN IN SHARPIE ON THEIR LEFT SHOULDER; PLEASE have your swimmer's event #, heat, lane, and stroke written on their arm.  Heat sheet should be posted sometime Friday evening. This will save A LOT of time because time will be very tight from entry, to warm up, to event lineup, to meet start time. See the "Before Arrival" section at Swim Meet 101 - Sonoma Ranch Renegades

Renegade arrival time is 7:15 a.m. Immediately check in with coaches in the Renegade area which will be toward the metal gate entrance at the far right side of the pool.

Swimmers and coaches will enter from the outside metal gate on the far right side of the pool.  Parents will enter through the main front doors. 

ALL swimmers will be inside on the pool deck.  10 & Under swimmers will be on the far left side (near the 10 & Under competition pool) and 11-18 swimmers on the far right side.  Spectator seating is on the second level overlooking the two swimming pools.  This is an indoor natatorium

Swimmers will want to bring a towel(s), water/drinks and any food/snacks they will need.  All items must fit in their swim bag/backpack/tote.  No coolers.  There will be Maldonado's food truck on site also.

The clear bag policy of Southwest ISD will be strictly enforced for all spectators. Swimmers and coaches ON DECK ARE NOT subject to the clear bag policy.

Per the Maverick league admin, they discourage elderly & young children from attending unless they can navigate VERY STEEP STAIRS! NO WAGONS OR STROLLERS due to lack of space. Make other arrangements for small children.
